Sonadow - Far Away
Chapter 3

"Get back into your bed, you must rest" Shadow said in his annoyed tone for the 4th time at least. Sonic wanted to go and run and play, but Shadow didn't let him, he kept saying he must be sick and everything... Which of course wasn't true. "Okay, I'll stay, but you should tell me what you wanted to ask before..." he sat down to his bed, eyes fixed on Shadow. He was standing next to the wardrobe, trying to make some space to his stuff in it - after all, they were going to live together. He didn't answer to Sonic's question. "Shaaaadooooooooooooow~" Sonic called. Shadow sighed, stopped tidying and turned to Sonic. "It doesn't matter anymore" he said softly, and continued tidying. Sonic folded his arms. "You're so mean, not telling me at all" he whispered.

At least an hour had passed, when Shadow finally put his clothes into the wardrobe. Sonic was watching him for that time. He didn't care if Shadow knew he was watching or anything. It was just so much pleasure for him; Shadow looked so cool, concentrating on his work hard, trying to find the best way to make space, putting in and away the clothes with his strong arms - this was something Sonic saw at least, that he was strong. He looked at his own arms, folding down his ears. Shadow was amazing, cool and muscular and fast, which he couldn't tell about himself, only the 'fast'... But that didn't count since he met Shadow - he could beat Sonic easily if he really wanted to, and this was something that really irritated him. He felt so weak, like a girl, having a need for protection from someone like Shadow... Sonic shook his head. He WASN'T a girl!!! Who cares about Shadow's awesome strength and power and other cool skills!!...
"What's the problem Sonic?" Shadow interrupted him. "What would be...? Why are you asking?" Sonic raised an eyebrow. "I asked because I saw you fighting with yourself. So, what's that you can't understand in yourself?" Shadow was way too cool. Like he knew everything Sonic thought, he just didn't say it out loud. "I won't tell you unless you tell me what you wanted to ask from me" Sonic folded his arms again, but now with a smirk on his face. Shadow looked at him with wise and calm eyes. "You're so stubborn Sonic" was all he said, and with that, he went out of the room.
"You're so stubborn Sonic" He repeated it sarcastically. Shadow was so mysterious, and Sonic was the curious type. Damn how many things he wanted to know about Shadow! But every time he asked one of those questions, Shadow didn't answer at all. 'Was it because he still don't remember?... No, that's not right, he have to remember some of those things...' Sonic was deep in thought. He tried to find an answer by himself to those questions, but he failed. He ended up falling asleep.

A week has passed, when Sonic's mom finally let him go to school again. She did a good job anyway - Shadow had been accepted as a student and now he was going with Sonic to the school.

Of course if everything could be allright, Sonic would go to school with pleasure... "Sonikkuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu~" The evil voice called. Sonic folded his ears down, and Shadow raised an eyebrow. "Sonic, what's the ma-" he tried to ask, but got cut in mid-sentence by the pink-haired demon. "Sonikku, how could you not tell me you're sick!!! How could you not answer my phone calls!! I wanted to cure you with my love, can't you understand me?!?!" Amy was shouting Sonic's head off. "Sorry Amy, I was a little busy..." "Busy while you were sick?! Sonikku, don't try to fool me!!" Amy kept shouting. She did that for at least 5 minutes when she noticed the quite surprised Shadow next to Sonic. "Oh, who is this guy?" she asked, suddenly turning her tone to normal.  "Oh, he's Shadow, my new family member" Sonic said without hesitating, and his cheeks turned light pink when he realized what he said. "Family member? What do you mean?" Amy frowned. "I have no home right now, and his mother said I can live with them and go to school and stuff" Instead of Sonic, Shadow answered Amy's question. She looked at the guy slowly - black hair with red stripes in it, his eyes shining with dark reddish colour, his body like a wonderful athlete... She turned away, blushing. "Oh, I see...W-well... See you l-later guys..." She stuttered and ran away. "What's with her?" Shadow asked, but Sonic shrugged. Of course he knew the answer, and rage built up inside him. There's no way anyone could steal Shadow from him...!

The lessons looked like the same every time - many people got amazed by the new guy, the girls giggled and whispered when he walked past them, some of them getting enough courage to go and talk to him. Sonic never felt so jealous before. Naturally, he was a new one, and everyone wanted to know him, but still...!
Shadow was really kind to everyone. Sonic blinked every time he heard him talking with someone. Shadow was so mean to him, but there, in school, was just like another self of him.

Sonic sat on a bench in the schoolyard, looking at the trees - all of them were green, and they moved slowly as the summer breeze touched them softly. Suddenly, Shadow sat down next to him. "What's up Shad?" Sonic asked. "I told you don't call me like that" Shadow was his annoying self again. Sonic sighed. "Sorrrrry, I just thought you might be kind with me tooooo" he said solemnly. Shadow was silent for 10 seconds. Then he spoke up. "Do you know that girl over there?" Sonic blinked in surprise, but then looked at the place where Shadow pointed. "Uhm... Yeah, I know her, she's our classmate in Spanish les-" "What's her name?" Shadow interrupted. "Blaze." Sonic said, looking away, tears in his eyes. Why can't he be kind to him? Why can't he notice his feelings...? Shadow stood up and walked to the girl calmly. "You're welcome" Sonic said sarcastically, and walked into the school building, not wanting to see Shadow for the rest of the day.

Amy found Sonic soon, and started to chat with him. Sonic just nodded at every sentence, not really concentrating on what she was talking about. "Sonikku, are you listening at all?" Amy suddenly got angry. "Sorry Amy, I can't, I'm not that cool as Shadow, why don't you talk to him?" Sonic said arrogantly. "Sonikku, are you jealous?" Amy said in pleasure. "Oh my gosh you must be! Oh why my Sonikku there's no need for that, of course Shadow looks cool and everything but I still love only you~" Amy jumped up and down in excitement as she thought she figured out something right. Sonic sighed. He stood up, and calmly walked out of the classroom, his hands in his pockets. "Sonikku, where are you going?" Amy asked and ran after him, but when she reached the door, Sonic was already gone. "I hate the fact that he's fast" Amy whispered and went back to the classroom, sulking.

Shadow got back home, an hour later than Sonic. "Good afternoon Sonic, you should at least tell me next time you're coming home earlier" Shadow said angrily as he stepped into the bedroom. Sonic was lying on his bed, writing in his diary. "Oh sorry, I just thought I won't bother you and Blaze's little date" he said solemnly and continued writing. Shadow looked at him, thinking. "Sonic, what the hell is going on with you?" he asked. "What would be, idiot" Sonic answered softly, anger in his voice. How could he be so clueless...? "Sonic, I'm not dating that cat girl-" Shadow started, but Sonic interrupted him. "Oh yeah well I'm not stupid to believe in that moron" "Look who's talking" Shadow said solemnly, not wanting to finish his sentence anymore. 'Looks like he doesn't want to know anything about me' Shadow thought. He sat on his bed, packing out the books and exercise books and started to write his homework, not paying attention to the sulking Sonic at the other side of the room at all.

Dear Diary,

I felt like writing in you again. The guy I love - I finally realised I love him - is not noticing me at all. He's mean to me, and doesn't care about my feelings. He's going out with girls, and asking me what I know about them. Of course I answer his questions, but it hurts so much. Looks like he's the hetero type; and I don't have a chance. What should I do? I don't know how I could tell him how I feel, and I'm scared of the consequence too. What if he doesn't even think about such things and wish me to hell because I love him? I know this is childish, and that we're half-adults, but even adults act like a child many times, hating someone because that person loves them. Wish you could talk to me, or say just a key-word about what I should do.

He closed the book and placed it into his chest-of-drawers. He looked at Shadow, who was concentrating on his homework. "Need help?" He tried to show some regret for being a moron earlier. But it looked like Shadow didn't want peace. "I don't need your help" was all he said. Sonic looked at the floor - Shadow must be really the hetero type. And if that's the case, he shouldn't even bother to talk to him. Then maybe he can get him out of his mind at last.

Suddenly Shadow stood up and started to pack some stuff into his bag. "Where are you going?" Sonic asked him. "None of your business" This sentence was so familiar from the past... "We're living in the same house, you should at least tell me when you're coming back" Sonic tried not to sound too caring. He wanted to forget him really hard. Shadow looked at him, his eyes shining in the mid-dark, as it was getting late. "Just remembered I have some things to do, but in an hour or two I'll be back" he said softly, and in a second he vanished. "How the heck he's doing this?!" Sonic shouted out his thought. It looked like he teleported... "I should ask about it later" Sonic whispered to himself, and went to take a shower.
